Holiday fun at preschool

The second week of our spring holiday program was all about moving, celebrating and having fun together. Here is what the week of 5 to 9 October looked like.

Boot Camp Day

The children took part in relays and active games that kept everyone moving and laughing. To finish, everyone had a race, which was definitely their favourite part. Active play builds coordination, balance and turn taking.

Ice Cream Day and Party Day

Ice Cream Day was a sweet treat for everyone. On Party Day the children danced, made fairy bread and enjoyed party food together. Spreading and sprinkling is great practice for little hands.

Face Painting Day

We ended the holiday program with face painting, kindly done by one of our parents. The children chose their own designs and loved showing them off.

Back to routine next week

After the holidays we return to our usual routines and School Readiness Program. Next week we will explore friendship, kindness and personal boundaries.

Try this at home

• Set up an obstacle course in the backyard with cushions, chairs and a skipping rope.
• Make fairy bread together and let your child spread and sprinkle.
• Talk about the best part of the holidays and draw a picture of it.

Visit Sophie’s Cottage

Sophie’s Cottage Kindergarten is a small, family-run preschool for children aged 3 to 6 at 9 Sophie Street, Telopea, open 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Families join us from Eastwood, Telopea and the suburbs around us.
