Welcome to Sophie’s Cottage Kindergarten
Government-Funded
Quality preschool education made accessible through government funding, helping Rydalmere families give their children the best start to school and beyond.
Family Owned
A warm, family-owned preschool where meaningful relationships with children and families are at the heart of everything we do.
Small Classes
With only 28 children each day, we provide a personalised learning environment where every child receives the attention they deserve.
Preschool hours that suit Rydalmere families
Rydalmere families reach us in about 8 minutes, heading north through Dundas. The light rail runs from Rydalmere to Telopea in a few stops if you prefer not to drive.
Many Rydalmere parents work nearby or in Parramatta, and tell us our 8:30am to 4:30pm day fits well around flexible or part-time work. Because we open 52 weeks a year, you are not left without care in the school holidays the way you would be with a term-time preschool.
Whether your child is going to Rydalmere Public School, Rydalmere East Public School or a local Catholic school, a year in our Butterfly group helps them start confident.
Quality Preschool Made Accessible
Our full daily fee is $119. Most families pay far less, because the Child Care Subsidy and NSW Start Strong fee relief both come off that fee.
Plus Child Care Subsidy of up to 90% for eligible families.

A true preschool for ages 3 to 6
We are not a long day care with a preschool room. Every child here is aged 3 to 6, so the whole day is built around getting ready for school. Read more about preschool versus long day care.
Our Bee group (3 to 4 years) attends at least 2 days a week. Our Butterfly group (4 to 6 years) attends at least 3 days and follows our school readiness program.
